Full-Time Teaching Assistant To Start In January 2025!!

Career Teachers are excited to announce an opportunity for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a Primary School in Heanor, Derbyshire. This role involves working 1:1 with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage and Year 1, providing essential support to help them thrive in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to children in EYFS and Year 1, ensuring they are fully engaged in classroom activities.
  • Assist with the implementation of learning plans tailored to each child’s needs, as directed by the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Support the development of social, emotional, and academic skills through structured activities and play.
  • Monitor and record the progress of the children, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Facilitate a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging children to participate and interact with their peers.
  • Assist with personal care needs, if required, ensuring the well-being and comfort of the children.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, offering updates on the children’s progress and any concerns.
  • Support the children during transitions between activities and throughout the school day.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young children, particularly in EYFS and Year 1.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting children’s development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in early childhood education or special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
