Role and Responsibilities:
As a Food Tech Teacher, you will:
– Develop and deliver engaging food technology lessons tailored to the unique needs of our students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
– Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and hands-on learning.
– Teach pupils from Key Stage 3 up to GCSE level.
– Collaborate with other educators and support staff to create individualised learning plans.
– Inspire students to explore healthy eating, cooking techniques, and food safety.
– Promote independence and life skills through practical cooking experiences.
– Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their goals.
– Work with a support member of staff who will be present with each student during lessons.
– Contribute to the wider school community and participate in school events and activities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
– Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with SEMH, is highly desirable.
– Strong knowledge of food technology and a passion for teaching.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Patience, empathy, and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
– Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
