Join Our Team as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Career Teachers is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a fantastic primary school in Croydon, South London. This full-time role starts immediately and focuses on working with early years children. We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual with experience in managing challenging behaviour.

About the Role:

As a HLTA, you will:

  • Teach and assist with teaching all national curriculum subjects, including Maths, English, Music, and Physical Education.
  • Plan and deliver curriculum-aligned lessons.
  • Create a safe and motivating classroom environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Implement behaviour expectations and assess assignments and tests.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and school leaders.

Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for passionate HLTAs with:

  • A relevant HLTA qualification or prior experience working as an HLTA.
  • Previous in-school teaching experience.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • The Right to Work in the UK.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Ideal candidates will have expertise in teaching methods, effective communication skills, and the ability to inspire students of all abilities. You must be dedicated to creating optimal learning conditions, safeguarding children, and proficient in office software. Positive, outgoing, and compassionate traits are essential.
