Position: SEMH Teacher in a Pupil Referral Unit
Location: Barnet (N20)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £750 – £1,250 per week (Scale Point Rate)

We are looking for an exceptional SEMH Teacher to join our dedicated team in an OFSTED-rated ‘Good’ Pupil Referral Unit catering to students aged 5 to 18. This is a highly rewarding role where you’ll support young people with diverse needs, particularly those experiencing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Support students’ academic progress while fostering emotional resilience and self-esteem.
• Maintain safeguarding standards, ensuring the welfare and safety of all pupils.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
• Promote independence, well-being, and positive behaviour among pupils.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an Overseas Teaching Certificate recognised by NARIC.
• Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in PRU or SEND settings.
• A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• An Enhanced DBS check on the update service is essential.
• Knowledge of behavioural support strategies, trauma-informed practices, or therapeutic approaches is highly desirable.
