SEND TEACHING ASSISTANT in Lambeth

* £85-£95 per day (dependant on experience)
* SEN TA – Lambeth area.
* Full time positions – 8:30 to 16:15
Within Schools, you will work with four broad categories of need: Communication and interaction, Cognition and learning, Social, emotional and mental health difficulties and Sensory and/or physical needs. Education and training in Special Needs or Healthcare will be beneficial but not essential.
Within the role of SEN TA, you will work alongside the class teacher and therapy teams to support each child’s progress and ensure that they reach their individual goals and targets. You will also provide general support to students according to requirements for the day, whether this be personal care, hoisting or feeding.
You will gain a wide range of experience working with mild to severe learning difficulties, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, physical disabilities and sensory impairment, Autism, and complex medical needs.
SEN TA are key in the ensuring that students are given individualised support through multiple approaches; sensory activities, learning through play, practical experiences and more formal teaching. SEND schools aim to provide students with tools to prepare them for their adult lives, whether this is in employment, supported living or social care.
Requirements
* A patient and understanding approach.
* An interest in working with students with SEND.
* Display clear and strong communication skills.
* Existing DBS check on the update service
* Existing experience working with children or adults with SEND advantageous, but not required.
* Two references from within the past 3 years
