Job Summary

An inclusive and welcoming infant school in North Derbyshire is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal child in Year 1. This is a part-time role (3 days per week) starting in September 2025, running for the full academic year.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a non-verbal child in Year 1
• Implement communication strategies and personalised learning activities
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Support the child’s academic, social, and emotional development

Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
• Recent experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)
• A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
