Career Teachers are currently looking for a confident and experienced 1:1 Support Assistant with personal care experience for a Specialist School in Romford

Position: 1:1 Support Assistant
Location: Romford
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to a student with special educational needs.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, ensuring the student’s comfort and dignity.
  • Support the student’s social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Implement individualised learning plans and strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support.
  • Monitor and report on the student’s progress and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs.
  • Personal care experience, including assisting with hygiene, feeding, and mobility.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student well-being.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education or personal care is a plus.
