Career Teachers are supporting the Headteacher of an Ofsted rated GOOD secondary school in Blackley, Manchester, who would like to seek out potential applicants for a Permanent Science Teacher to start in January 2025.

As a Teacher of Science, you will be teaching lessons each day, promoting interest in the subject, establishing good relationships and driving their ethos of ‘learning everyday’.

According to Ofsted, ‘Leaders have set out high expectations for pupils’ behaviour and learning. Pupils focus well on their work in lessons. Most pupils are respectful towards each other and to adults. Pupils are behaving increasingly well around the school site. This is because leaders are well on their way to establishing a positive culture throughout all aspects of the school.’

This school has multi-million pound facilities including a state-of-the-art theatre, gym and climbing wall.

The Headteacher is seeking a Science teacher who can inspire learning, promote interest in the subject, and ensure high achievement across KS3 and KS4, someone who demonstrates commitment and initiative with a ‘can do’ approach.

To be considered for this role, you must –

  • have a PGCE and QTS or QTLS
  • have a Science specific degree
  • have right to work in the UK
  • have experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Science
  • be passionate about education and inspiring young learners
