Learning Support Assistant in Plumstead, South East London

Career Teachers are looking for an experienced and dedicated Learning Support Assistant/SEN Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding primary school in Greenwich, South London. This full-time role is set to commence ASAP.

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:30am to 4pm
  • ASAP start
  • Primary School based in Plumstead

We are specifically looking for candidates with experience working with SEND students, including Autism, ADHD, behavioural issues, and more. This school prides itself on a unique and diverse learning community, and we would be looking for someone to help them in their goal to provide the best possible support in enabling pupils to achieve their best!

Role Overview:

As a Learning Support Assistant/SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support children in achieving their full potential. This includes working individually or in small groups with students who have additional learning needs such as ASD, ADHD, and various learning difficulties.

The position is available for an ASAP start, and is expected to continue for the full academic year.

Qualifications and Experience:

We are seeking candidates with prior experience in childcare or educational settings, such as babysitting, tutoring, coaching, summer camps, or previous teaching assistant roles. For this specific role, it is essential to have demonstrable experience working with SEND children. Candidates must have:

  • A valid and up-to-date Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Legal Right to Work in the UK
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a strong passion for education
