Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Year 6) – Full Time

Mainstream Primary School – S9 Area, Sheffield

Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm

Pay: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: 3^rd September 2025

Contract: Long-term, full-time for the entire academic year – until July 2026

This role is also suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain valuable classroom experience in Upper Key Stage 2.

About the Role:

As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will:

– Provide targeted support to pupils in preparation for SATs

– Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons

– Support pupils with varying needs, including those with SEND

– Deliver small group interventions in literacy and numeracy

– Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment

– Support with marking, displays, and general classroom organisation

– Experienced in Upper Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6

– Able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff

– Confident in supporting learning across the curriculum

– Skilled in managing behaviour positively and effectively

– Proactive, flexible, and a strong team player

Requirements:

– Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

– Proven experience in a UK primary school setting

– Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
