We are on the lookout for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs to join a supportive team in Oldham on a permanent basis from September 2024.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Your day will be varied, challenging, and immensely rewarding as you:

  • Work closely with the class teacher to create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities
  • Implement tailored educational plans and strategies that cater to individual student requirements
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring that each student is engaged and supported
  • Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere where every child feels valued and respected

The ideal Teaching Assistant will:

  • Have previous experience working with children with SEN, either in a school setting or a similar environment
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the challenges and rewards of working with SEN students
  • Be patient, empathetic, and committed to helping every child succeed
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, but also show initiative when needed
