Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging and supportive lessons
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them overcome academic and personal challenges
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies and promote positive interactions
  • Support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in mainstream and SEN settings
  • Contribute to the development of individualised education plans (IEPs) and monitor students’ progress
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and encouraged

What We’re Looking For:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Psychology or a related field
  • A genuine interest in working with young people and supporting their development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a proactive approach to engaging students
  • Experience working with students with SEND is advantageous but not essential

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEND in a mainstream or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) setting
  • A patient and understanding approach
  • A flexible approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Existing DBS check on the update service
  • Experience with PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Rapid Prompting Method, and other augmentative and alternative communication approaches are advantageous but not essential
