Career Teachers are supporting the Headteacher of an amazing secondary school in Dukinfield, Tameside who wish to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join their school on a permanent basis from January 2025.

This Ofsted rated GOOD secondary school in Dukinfield has received a really positive inspection recently. ‘The school prioritises raising pupils’ aspirations and developing their awareness of the wider world. It is ambitious for all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).’

Reporting to the SENCO, the successful Learning Support Assistant will be working as part of the Nurture and Alternative Provision team and will support young people who have EHCP’s and identified special educational needs in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in class, and within the Alternative Provision.

The SEND team at this secondary school in Dukinfield provide opportunities for pupils with a wide range of difficulties to make excellent progress and they encourage all children to succeed. This post would be suited to an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant or someone who has gained SEND experience in a different setting. Qualifications are not essential, SEND experience is.
