SEN Teaching Assistant – Rotherham

Full time/Temporary
Start: January 2026

Make a lasting difference in the lives of young people by joining our dedicated Sheffield team, where we create nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environments that help pupils achieve more than they ever thought possible.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work directly with incredible pupils, all of whom have a diagnosis of autism and may present with additional needs. Every child has extraordinary potential – and you’ll play a vital role in helping them unlock it through tailored, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences.

Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Supporting pupils across a range of abilities and needs
  • Preparing learning materials and assisting with classroom activities
  • Providing compassionate, hands-on guidance under the direction of experienced teachers
  • Supporting pupils’ emotional and physical wellbeing
  • Encouraging independence, resilience, confidence, and positive learning behaviour

No two days are the same. You’ll face challenges, celebrate successes, and grow your skills within a supportive, experienced, and passionate team. This is a role where your impact truly matters every single day.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children
  • Previous experience supporting children with autism (highly desirable)
  • GCSE Grade C / 4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • A compassionate, patient, and motivated approach
  • A genuine desire to make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives

If you’re caring, committed, and ready to help shape brighter futures, this is your opportunity to inspire pupils and support them to thrive.
