Nursery Nurse – Dronfield

Contract: Full time Start: February 2026

About the Role

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Nursery Nurse to support the learning, development, and wellbeing of children within an early years setting. The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the learning and development of children aged 0-5 in line with the EYFS framework
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play
  • Create a safe, caring, and inclusive environment that meets individual children’s needs
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and contribute to learning journals
  • Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times
  • Assist with daily routines including mealtimes, toileting, and outdoor play
  • Work effectively as part of a team to maintain high standards of care and education

Requirements

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years (or equivalent)
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • A caring, patient, and positive approach to working with young children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to different nursery environments
  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
  • Paediatric First Aid training
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs
