Career Teachers are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in the S5 area of Sheffield for a full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 6.
The school is seeking an energetic and sporty individual who can build strong relationships and provide consistent support to pupils, particularly those who respond well to structured, active engagement and positive role modelling.
🔹 The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide in-class support for Year 6 pupils, both 1:1 and in small groups
- Help maintain a positive and structured learning environment
- Support pupils with behaviour management strategies
- Encourage engagement through active and practical approaches to learning
- Work closely with the class teacher to support academic progress and preparation for SATs
- Act as a positive role model, promoting confidence and resilience
🔹 The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in Upper KS2
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
- A sporty, energetic approach to engaging pupils
- Confidence working with challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
- A proactive, patient, and resilient attitude
- Team player with excellent communication skills
