About the Role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Nursery Assistant to join our friendly team in Rotherham. This is a flexible position ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and making a positive impact on their early development.

As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the Nursery Practitioners in providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting children with their learning, development, and daily routines.
• Assisting with the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities.
• Encouraging children’s social, emotional, and physical development.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
• Assisting with meals, snacks, and personal care routines where required.
• Building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Following nursery policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
• A caring, patient, and positive attitude.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts and days as required.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare practices.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service, or willingness to undertake a new DBS check.
