A fantastic and rare opportunity has arisen for someone to join our Outdoor Education provision as an Adventure Group Tutor in Mansfield.

The right candidate will deliver innovative and engaging lessons in beautiful locations such in the Peak District National Park as well as more local wild spaces around Derbyshire. Our team work from the Adventure & Sports Hub in Pleasley where they benefit from excellent amenities including classrooms and large indoor spaces to practise skills and techniques.

Ideal Candidate:

Someone with a passion for supporting children and young people to challenge themselves beyond the classroom and embrace the outdoors taking part in activities and pursuits such as rock climbing & abseiling, kayaking, canoeing, caving, hiking and much more.

Experience of leading groups of children and young people in the mentioned activities, has a high level of understanding when working with young people who have SEN and/or challenging behaviour and are confident in managing riskier activities and pursuits according to their National Governing Body qualifications.

Due to the nature and location of the activities and pursuits, travel to and from appropriate locations like the Peak National Park is on a frequent and regular basis. We therefore ask anyone applying for this role to have a full driving licence enabling the transportation of learners (transport provided).

Education and Training:

To hold a minimum of 2 National Governing Body Awards (NGB’s).

To hold additional Outdoor specific qualifications (e.g. climbing, Level 1 Kayak etc).

To be able to produce evidence of previous CPD (e.g. first aid, safeguarding training, diversity training, CAF/EHC training, IOSHH).

This is a full-time permanent position, operating Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4pm term time only. The starting salary is £21,000 per annum up to £25,000 per annum.

All quoted rates are inclusive of 12.07% holiday pay.
