Career Teachers is dedicated to providing exceptional educational support and nurturing learning environments. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team for a full-time position in a Key Stage 1 class, starting in September 2024.

Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a Key Stage 1 class. Your role will involve working closely with the child to ensure they receive tailored support, fostering both their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with ASD, adapting teaching methods to suit their individual needs.
  • Assist with classroom activities and support the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and SEN coordinators.
  • Monitor the child’s progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support the child in developing social skills and managing their behaviour effectively.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly ASD.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (preferred).
