This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Support Worker with behavioural management experience to join the team at a Pupil Referral Unit in Waltham Forest.

Within this role, you will be supporting children and young people aged between 11- 16 years Social, Emotional and Mental Health.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience: Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting or Pupil Referral Unit.
  • Education: Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs, Behavioural Support, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Personal Experience: Personal experience with SEND needs is highly valued.

Main Duties:

  • Establish trusting relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs and personalities.
  • Actively promote the inclusion and acceptance of pupils and staff, supporting diversity and ensuring all pupils have equal access to opportunities for learning and development.
  • Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policies, encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their behaviour.
  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment and assist with the display of pupil’s work.
