A Hearing & Vision Impaired Provision for KS1 – KS5 pupils based in West London is looking for a Teaching Assistant with Level 2 or above in British Sign Language (BSL).

The school’s aim is for their pupils to become confident, independent and motivated members of the community. They are currently seeking two teaching assistants with BSL Level 2 or higher qualifications to work across both their sites with students with hearing impairment to help them achieve this.

The school are looking for someone who:

  • Must have significant experience of working with children or adults with complex and profound additional needs;
  • Must have BSL qualification and be confident in communicating with families with BSL as a first language
  • Is hard working and committed to work across the age range;
  • Is numerate, literate and have a good command of spoken English so that you can support pupils in classrooms;
  • Has a good general standard of education (5 GCSEs equivalent, including English and Mathematics at A* to C or Functional Skills Level 2 maths and English);
  • Understands that behaviour is a communication of need, and uses a positive behaviour approach;
