Cover Manager & Exams Administrator

Hours: 7:00am start, Monday-Friday Contract: Full-time Location: Hackney

We’re looking for an organised, proactive, and calm‑under‑pressure individual to join a client school as a Cover Manager and Exams Administrator. This dual role suits someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys problem‑solving, and takes pride in keeping school operations running smoothly.

About the Role

Starting at 7am each day, you’ll be the first point of contact for managing staff absence and arranging daily cover. Once the school day is underway, your focus will shift to supporting the planning and administration of internal and external examinations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating daily staff cover and ensuring all lessons are appropriately staffed

  • Communicating with supply agencies and internal staff to arrange cover efficiently

  • Maintaining accurate records of staff absence and cover allocation

  • Supporting the Exams Officer with the preparation, organisation, and running of exam seasons

  • Ensuring exam regulations and procedures are followed

  • Liaising with students, staff, and invigilators

  • Providing general administrative support as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Confidence in using IT systems and managing data

  • Working knowledge of SIMS and Arbor is essential

  • Ability to stay calm, flexible, and solution‑focused under pressure

  • Reliability and punctuality – especially with the early start

  • Experience in a school environment or exam administration is desirable but not essential

Why Join Us?

  • A supportive and friendly team

  • Opportunities for professional development

  • A role where no two days are the same

  • The chance to make a real impact on the smooth running of the school

If you’re someone who enjoys responsibility, thrives on early starts, and wants to play a key role in supporting both staff and students, we’d love to hear from you.
