Start Date: 22nd August 2024
Working hours: 32.5 hours a week, 39 weeks per year, Monday to Friday 8:30-3:30

Career Teachers are seeking highly motivated and experienced cover supervisors to provide support in Key Stages 1 and 2 in order to help pupils achieve their full potential. You will need experience of covering whole classes in the absence of the class teacher and good classroom management skills.

You will be involved in:

Covering classes and teaching identified groups as directed by phase leader/ class teacher.

Supporting students to engage with the work provided, including providing support where necessary with literacy, numeracy and organisational skills.

Delivering interventions to support pupils to ensure they can access education within class and provide support including visuals.

Providing intervention sessions as directed.

We are looking for someone who has:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of experience.

a Degree related to Education / Psychology / Health and Social Care / English or Maths

Previous experience working in a primary school setting in all year groups.

Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding and health and safety procedures.

Confidence in teaching and managing a class in the absence of the class teacher.

Patience and resilience with the ability to maintain a positive outlook with problem solving skills to overcome barriers.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified and experienced Teaching assistant or QTS / Degree qualification in Education
  • An enhanced DBS certificate (we can process one if necessary)
  • UK resident with some previous experience of working in a UK school.
