We are working in partnership with a secondary school in Havering to recruit a reliable and skilled Design & Technology Technician for a permanent position starting September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and practical individual to join a well‑resourced Design & Technology department and play a key role in supporting high‑quality teaching and learning.

The Role

  • Provide technical and practical support across Design & Technology lessons
  • Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for practical sessions
  • Maintain machinery and specialist equipment in line with health & safety requirements
  • Support teaching staff and students during practical activities where required
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and routine checks of resources
  • Ensure workshops and teaching spaces are safe, clean, and well organised

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working as a DT Technician or in a relevant practical/technical role (school experience desirable)
  • Strong understanding of workshop practices, tools, machinery, and health & safety
  • Organised, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Confident communicator with a professional approach
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
