A mainstream primary school in Stalybridge, Tameside, wish to appoint a Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner to join their team as soon as possible, on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Teaching Assistant.

This Ofsted rated GOOD primary school have a highly skilled, committed team who strive for the upmost success for their children and have a caring and supportive ethos at their core.

Primarily, this post will be to work across EYFS and KS1 but the postholder will be required to be flexible across the whole school as needed. The successful applicant will need experience of the EYFS framework and be confident in moving a child’s learning forward, challenging and exploring all possibilities through high quality interactions. Ideally, they will have delivered some adult led activities and had experience of their role within continuous provision.

The postholder may be required to provide intimate care e.g. nappy changing. Additionally, although this post is not an SEN post, they will need experience of SEN pupils, in particular pupils who are non-verbal and autistic as they have an increased number of high needs pupils.

  • A genuine desire to support pupil well-being and SEMH needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

We require a reliable, self-motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who –

  • holds a Level 3 EYFS qualification OR equivalent
  • has GCSE’s or equivalent, including Mathematics and English at grade C or above
  • has a desire to support students in achieving their best possible outcomes
  • can commit to a permanent role on a full time basis (32.5 hours per week)
