About the Role

Career Teachers are seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing and highly motivated Early Years Teacher to join a warm, inclusive primary setting for a one‑year maternity cover starting in March 2026. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the early development of children within a school community that prioritises inclusion, high expectations and a love of learning.

You will become part of a dedicated team that is committed to giving every child the best possible start in their education. The school is outward‑facing, forward‑thinking and continually strives to improve outcomes for all pupils. Children come from a wide range of backgrounds and have diverse needs, and the staff work hard to engage, inspire and support every learner through a rich, stimulating and child‑centred curriculum.

This role is ideal for someone with passion, creativity and a genuine commitment to Early Years education. You will have the opportunity to help shape the progress, independence and resilience of the school’s youngest learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching and learning across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Create a warm, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment
  • Support children’s physical, emotional, social and intellectual development
  • Build positive relationships with children and their families
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver engaging EYFS activities
  • Use assessment effectively to track progress and inform teaching
  • Maintain accurate records to support children’s development and next steps
  • Promote independence, curiosity and a love of learning

Requirements

Successful applicants will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Strong understanding of child development and EYFS curriculum expectations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to create an engaging, inclusive and safe learning environment.
  • A passion for helping children reach their fullest potential.
