Early Career Teacher (ECT) supply can provide you with a variety of classroom experiences which can benefit you by giving you teaching experience before securing a long-term/ permanent job. This is a great way to build on your prior teaching practice experiences .

Duties of an Early Career Teacher (ECT) in a supply role include:

• A reliable, professional but friendly approach
• Providing consistency and support for the pupils that day.
• To teach clearly planned lessons/adapting where necessary to motivate all of the children .
• Pupils’ learning needs/abilities quickly assessed to ensure activities are differentiated and adapted if/when needed.
• Utilise resources and classroom support where applicable.
• Discussions with colleagues to check learning objectives and targets.
• Clear and consistent positive behaviour management in line with the school policy.
• Safeguarding at all times and knowing the procedure of the school .
