Career Teachers are looking to recruit Exam Invigilators to work within a cluster of Secondary Schools across the Sandwell area for the upcoming exam season.

You will be employed on a temporary basis to supervise students during the exam season May- June 2024. Working hours will be variable depending on examination requirements but will normally be between 8am – 12pm and/or 12pm – 4pm (there may be unpaid gaps between exams).

As an Exam Invigilator, you will be required to working within a team of invigilators, helping to deliver a range of GCSE and A level examinations. You will be responsible for overseeing and supervising examinations and to ensure that guidelines and regulations are followed as specified by the Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ). You will work closely with staff members to pick up the exam material prior to the exam, distributing the material to students, supervising the exam for the duration of the scheduled time, and return all exam materials to the exams officer at the end of the allocated time.

To be successful for this role, you must:

  • Have previous experience working as an exam invigilator
  • Eligibility to work within the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS check on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
  • Have up-to-date safeguarding training; Career Teachers offer a FREE online Safeguarding training course
  • Able to provide a minimum of 2 x references to cover the last 2 years of employment history.
  • Provide a full 10-year career history and references to cover the last 2 years including current and previous employers.
