Are you an experienced and qualified HLTA with a passion to support students with special needs?

Career Teachers are currently looking for a highly experienced individual to support as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Barking and Dagenham.

You will be supporting children and young people of various ages within KS2 to KS4.

Details of Position:

  • Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Barking and Dagenham
  • Contract: Full Time, Long Term – 5 days p/w
  • Duration: Ongoing
  • Salary Range: £85 – £120 daily rate (dependent on experience)
  • Start Date: ASAP

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Relevant HLTA Qualification (Essential)
  • Understanding of SEND and best practice.
  • Engagement skills as well as, a dedication to ongoing learning, and a passion for enhancing the students’ experience are essential.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a HLTA supporting children and young people with additional needs such as, Autism, ADHD and SEMH.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Teaching/supporting students with special educational needs in their daily activities.
  • Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one support.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure students’ well-being.
  • Document and communicate students’ progress.
