We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a dynamic team in Rochdale on a permanent basis. As a key member of the support staff, you will work closely with teachers and students to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment. This permanent position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student’s educational journeys, providing personalised assistance to those with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students, offering tailored support to meet individual learning needs
  • Assist in implementing personalised learning plans for students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to enhance the learning experience for all students
  • Support students in developing their social, emotional, and academic skills
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents
  • Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere in the classroom and during extracurricular activities

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or similar role is desirable
  • Experience working with children with SEN or learning difficulties is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students achieve their potential
  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or Learning Support qualifications are advantageous but not essential
