General Skills and Requirements:

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you should have:

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in a UK school, or equivalent qualifications.
• Completed relevant courses in childcare, safeguarding, or as a Teaching Assistant.
• Experience as a Carer for adults or children.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in subjects like English, Maths, Science, Art, History, etc.
• Experience in youth work or as a police officer.
• Flexibility and adaptability to handle a variety of duties in changing circumstances.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure students remain focused and on task.
• Positively manage student’s behaviour.
• Consistently follow school policies on behaviour management.
• Follow instructions and work set by the Head of Department or class teachers.
• Provide 1-1 support and assist the class teacher.
