Maths Teacher – Full-Time (Career Teachers)

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Start Date: After Feb half term (23rd February)
Contract: Until end of academic year, with potential to go permanent
Pay: £140-£220 per day (PAYE)

About the Role

Career Teachers are recruiting a skilled and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a large, well-structured secondary school in Sheffield. You will deliver high-quality Maths teaching across KS3 and KS4. The school has strong departmental systems, supportive leadership, and a stable Maths team focused on raising attainment and improving pupil confidence in numeracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons aligned with the national curriculum
• Teach across KS3 and KS4, including full GCSE preparation
• Track and monitor pupil progress using the school’s assessment systems
• Maintain clear behaviour routines and promote a positive learning environment
• Contribute to departmental planning and intervention programmes
• Uphold safeguarding, professional standards, and whole-school expectations

Essential Requirements

• UK‑obtained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Maths
• Mathematics degree or closely related subject
• Experience teaching Maths in a UK secondary school
• Strong understanding of KS3 and GCSE Maths content
• Confident behaviour management and clear communication
• Ability to motivate and support learners across a wide ability range

Desirable

• Experience supporting intervention groups or targeted revision sessions
• Familiarity with strategies to close attainment gaps in Maths
• Ability to adapt teaching for mixed-ability groups
