Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Music Teacher for a Specialist School in the Barking and Dagenham area. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging music lessons tailored to the needs of students with ASC, PMLD, and SLD.
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, parents, and external professionals to support student development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with students with ASC, PMLD, and SLD.
  • Strong knowledge of music education and ability to play multiple instruments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a commitment to inclusive education.
