Special Needs Teaching Assistant Role – Derby

Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Derby
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: £83.50 – £95 per day (depending on experience)

At Career Teachers we are recruiting for a special needs school in Derby who currently require an additional learning support assistant to join their team on a full time basis starting as soon as possible. You will be working with students with additional learning needs such as Autism, ADHD, Complex Learning Needs, Downs Syndrome, Speech and Language difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with special educational needs, assisting them with their learning and development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and ensure the diverse needs of students are met.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents, contributing to ongoing assessment and evaluation processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, special education, or related fields are advantageous.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
