Teacher of Special Needs

Career Teachers are working with a Specialist SEN School in Leeds, to support with the appointment of a full-time teacher. This position is available immediately and will initially be offered until the end of the academic year.

The Role:

The school cater for students aged 3 years up to 19, you will be working within the Primary department supporting students who are working at a KS1 and 2 level. We are looking for someone who is nurturing, patient and confident in their ability to manage challenging behaviour.

As a Special Needs Teacher, you will deliver and assess lessons based on the relevant primary curriculum, deliver support sessions, and help the children to bridge those gaps in their education. You will have support from a team of Teaching Assistants and will be expected to work in collaboration to ensure consistency for them and helping to make sure they are able to achieve their full potential academically, emotionally and socially.

This position is available to both primary and special needs teachers, however it is desirable that the successful teacher has previous experience in a similar role. To be considered for this role, QTS must be obtained, and ideally induction years completed.
