A rare and exciting Principal opportunity at a secondary school in Northampton. This role is suitable for an experienced Headteacher/Principal or a Head of School, Vice/Deputy Principal or Deputy Headteacher who is seeking career progression.

This school is a thriving and successful academy, with over 1300 pupils, in the heart of Northampton serving a large, diverse community. Their latest Ofsted report from November 2023 states that, ‘The school has high expectations of all pupils. Pupils are considerate, polite and courteous. Pupils know that teachers want the very best for them. This helps pupils to achieve well, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). There is a purposeful atmosphere around the school. In class, and around the school, pupils work diligently and behave very well.’

The Principal will be accountable to the Executive Principal and the Trust for ensuring the educational success of the Academy within the overall framework of relevant legislation, best practice and available resources.

The Executive Principal is seeking a Principal who –

  • has a Teaching qualification with QTS and a nationally recognised leadership certificate (i.e. NPQH or Teaching Leaders)
  • has experience in a secondary school or grammar school setting
  • has experience as a successful Principal or Head of School/Deputy Headteacher or Vice Principal
  • can provide clear evidence of successful management of whole school improvement strategies and effective school development planning
  • can provide clear evidence of having raised standards of achievement at all levels
  • has successful experience of curriculum leadership and development

School visits are encouraged and interviews are scheduled to take place on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th April.
