SEMH Teaching Assistants Wanted – East London

Are you passionate about making a real difference for young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs?

We’re looking for experienced SEMH Teaching Assistants to join schools across East London, with positions available immediately and for September starts.

The Role

You’ll be supporting pupils who need someone in their corner-working closely with teachers, therapists, and families to help students engage with learning, regulate their emotions, and build the skills they need to thrive. This is hands-on, rewarding work in settings where every small breakthrough matters.

We’re recruiting for roles in:

• Alternative provisions
• SEN schools
• Pupil referral units (PRUs)
• Specialist SEMH settings

What We’re Looking For

• Experience with challenging behaviour – You stay calm under pressure and know how to de-escalate situations with empathy and consistency
• Resilience and patience – You understand that progress isn’t always linear and you’re committed for the long haul
• A genuine passion for SEMH – Whether through professional experience, relevant qualifications, or personal motivation, you get why this work matters
• Flexibility – You’re open to working across different types of provision and adapting to the needs of individual students
