Career Teachers is working in partnership with a specialist Secondary School in Islington supporting pupils aged 11-19 with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and associated needs. The school offers a structured, nurturing environment and places strong emphasis on inclusion, independence, and pupil wellbeing.

We are currently recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to support students across the school on a full-time basis.

The Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties, both in class and during structured activities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to promote engagement and progress
  • Assist with delivering differentiated and practical learning activities
  • Support students with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence
  • Implement EHCP targets, learning plans, and behaviour support strategies
  • Work closely with class teachers and other professionals to support pupil outcomes

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with MLD or additional needs (school, care, or community settings)
  • A patient, calm, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive education and SEN support
  • SEN school experience is desirable but not essential
