A high-performing and inclusive secondary school in the London Borough of Camden is seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join their leadership team on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and strategic practitioner who is committed to ensuring that students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are fully supported to achieve their potential within a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The Role

As SENCo, you will lead and develop the school’s SEND provision, working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the highest standards of support and inclusion across the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school
• Oversee identification, assessment and support for students with SEND
• Manage and monitor EHCPs, annual reviews and targeted interventions
• Support teachers in delivering inclusive classroom practice
• Work closely with parents, carers and external professionals
• Provide guidance and training for staff on SEND strategies and best practice
• Ensure the school remains compliant with the SEND Code of Practice

The Ideal Candidate

✔ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

✔ National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete)

✔ Experience supporting students with SEND within a secondary school setting

✔ Strong leadership and organisational skills

✔ A passion for inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners
