Job Description:
Career Teachers are seeking an experienced and qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) for a full-time role at a mainstream primary school in Bexley. This position is ideal for a professional dedicated to supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) and ensuring they have optimal access to learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a crucial member of the Senior Leadership Team, providing support for children with SEN throughout the school.
  • Manage referrals to appropriate agencies and handle the transfer of paperwork for pupils.
  • Oversee the logistics of Individual Provision Plan (IPP) meetings, including coordinating with parents and teachers to schedule suitable times.
  • Conduct assessments for pupils identified as having additional needs.
  • Assist in the development and writing of Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain the SEN register.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop intervention materials.
  • Analyse data related to SEN and more able cohorts.
  • Lead groups and work individually with students to support additional learning needs as required.
  • Monitor the Inclusion Action Plan and contribute to its analysis.
This role will initially be on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate after the initial period.
Salary: £190 – £290 per day, depending on experience.
Requirements:
