Location: Redbridge
Contract: 36 hours per week, 45.8 weeks per year
Salary: LBR Scale 5, SP 12-15
£32,535-£33,987 FTE / £27,954.89-£29,202.49 Pro Rata

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them fulfil their potential? We are recruiting a dynamic and inspirational SEND Deputy Head of Year (Non‑Teaching) to work with 6th Form students, including those with EHCPs, SEN‑K, and those requiring pastoral support.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed pastoral and SEND team, making a meaningful difference to the most vulnerable students across the 6th Form. The successful candidate will also play a key role in supervising independent study and supporting student progression.

⭐ The Role

You will play a central role in promoting an inclusive, high‑expectations culture across the 6th Form by:

  • Supporting students with SEND and those at risk of underachievement
  • Working alongside the Head of Year, Deputy Head of Year and Leadership Team
  • Enhancing the quality of pastoral care
  • Monitoring academic and social progress of vulnerable learners
  • Supervising 6th Form private study
  • Supporting personal statements and progression pathways
  • Collaborating with external agencies and parents
  • Assisting with rewards, sanctions and attendance
  • Delivering pastoral interventions where required
  • Contributing to year‑group assemblies

This role is ideal for someone with strong pastoral skills, excellent communication, and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students.
