We are seeking a number of enthusiastic committed professionals to join us as Primary Cover Teaching Assistants in a Specialist SEND School in Castleford. The school’s education programme is designed to provide pupils with the specialised support they need, going beyond what mainstream schools can offer.

This School’s Castleford site is designed to support pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties, including many with autism. The school has been extended and refurbished to meet these needs, and it also accommodates students with additional medical, physical, or sensory impairments

The site features eleven classrooms, including early foundations classrooms, and specialised facilities such as a Sensory Integration Room, outdoor Sensory Integration Provision, Sensory Room, Sensory Pod, Trampoline, Communication/Language Development Room, and a Ball Pool. There are also dedicated areas for music and art, literacy and math interventions, therapy groups, and fully equipped hygiene areas

For outdoor activities, the school offers various play areas, including those for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils, as well as adventure and roadway play areas, a sports play area, and an inclusive play area with a large climbing structure, roundabout, swings, and an outdoor trampoline. This is a school where the team of staff work together to provide great experiences and accessible education for each individual student with care and consideration embedded in everything they do. Through encouragement, a wide range of learning opportunities and an enthusiastic staff, the school works in partnership with parents to ensure each child will fulfil their potential.
