Career Teachers are currently recruiting for a passionate SEND Teacher to join an outstanding SEN school in Burton-upon-Trent, as soon as possible!

This large secondary SEN School caters for pupils aged 5 – 16. It is already a wonderful school with a friendly ethos, a great environment, and high quality teaching and learning. You will access excellent training and professional development and will have the chance to shape the future development of your school. Special school teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver effective lessons which cater to the needs of individual EHCP plans

Be responsible for all assessments relating to learners of

Be aware of, and remain responsible for all safeguarding of learners within your care

Work collaboratively with both teaching and support staff to ensure best outcomes for learners

Foster independence in learners and promote well-being and good welfare

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required

Experience working with students with SEND within a mainstream or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) setting is desirable, however ECTs are welcomed to apply

Flexible and hard-working nature

Excellent communication skills

Existing DBS check on the update service

Experience of augmentative and alternative communication (PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Rapid Prompting Method) are beneficial, but not essential.
