Position: SEND Teacher

Location: Derby

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: £130 – £180 per day (depending on experience)

If you are a passionate SEND teacher or a primary or secondary teacher looking to move across into Special Education I want to hear from you!

The school caters to learners with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will be supporting learners aged 4-16 with additional learning needs such as Autism, ADHD, Complex Learning Needs, Downs Syndrome, Speech and Language difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

A patient and understanding approach and manner

A flexible and amenable attitude

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Reliable attendance and punctuality

Experience of PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Rapid Prompting Method and other relevant augmentative and alternative communication approaches are advantageous but not essential

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver effective lessons which cater to the needs of individual EHCP plans

Be responsible for all assessments relating to class students

Be aware of, and remain responsible for all safeguarding of pupils within your care

Work collaboratively with both teaching and support staff to ensure best outcomes for students

Foster independence in students and promote well-being and good welfare
