Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will support the class teacher in creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND.
* Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
* Support students’ social and emotional development.
* Help to prepare and maintain a stimulating learning environment.
* Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
* Assist with classroom management and behavior support.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a consistent approach to each child’s learning and development.
* Assist with personal care needs when required.
* Support students during school activities and outings.

Skills and Requirements:

* Previous experience working with children with SEND in a school setting.
* A patient, empathetic, and supportive attitude.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEND support (desirable but not essential).
