SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools in Dronfield/North East Derbyshire

Position: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Dronfield

Contract: Flexible (Day-to-Day or Long-Term)

Pay: £85 – £100 per day

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Join our team and work with primary schools across the Dronfield area, offering support on a flexible day-to-day basis or in long-term positions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.

* Assist in delivering personalised education plans (EHCPs) to meet individual pupil needs.

* Encourage the development of social, emotional, and academic skills in a nurturing environment.

* Work collaboratively with class teachers and SEND coordinators to create an inclusive classroom.

* Support pupils during classroom activities, small group interventions, and one-to-one sessions.

* Promote positive behaviour management and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils.

Skills and Experience Required:

* Experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a school setting.

* A strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with additional needs.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with pupils and colleagues.

* Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the unique needs of each child.

* A proactive and flexible approach to working in different school environments.

* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEND-specific training) are desirable but not essential.
