Graduate Teaching Assistant (SEND), Southeast London

Full-time September 2026

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Graduate Teaching Assistants to join inclusive and nurturing school communities across Southeast London. These full-time roles offer a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support for children with SEND, including autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy
  • Assistin the implementation of individual learning plans and behaviour strategies
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support the development of communication, social, and life skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure each child achieves their potential
  • Monitor and record student progress

Requirements/Desirable:

  • A degree (or equivalent qualification)
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, including autism, Down syndrome, or cerebral palsy
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with children with diverse learning needs
  • Strong communicationand teamwork skills
  • A proactive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting children in development

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of assistive communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS)
  • Understanding of sensory integration strategies
