Career Teachers are currently supporting an outstanding SEN School/College in Stockport who require a Teacher for their college (19-25) with an immediate start date. This will initially be a full time, 9 -12 month contract with a high possibility of this becoming permanent.

They provide world-leading learning initiatives, resources and highly specialist multi-sensory learning environments which are tailored to each individual young person. They are dedicated to providing a creative, happy, and secure environment for children and young people with complex needs and additional communication challenges from across the UK.
The young people within this specialist education setting have profound and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Condition, sensory impairments, and communication disorders.

They are looking for someone who is driven, enthusiastic and resilient, and will go the extra mile to help their children and young people live their best lives and be happy and valued members of their communities.

Key Requirements of a Special Needs Teacher:

– Teaching degree or post graduate certificate, QTS or QTLS (not essential if experienced)
– Previous experience with students who have Sensory Impairments, Autism and/or communication difficulties.
– British Sign Language or Makaton experience is desirable
– Previous experience with students who have severe and/or complex learning difficulties.
– Multi-disciplinary working experience
– Experience of behaviour management strategies and individual learning plans
