Salary: £130 – £180 per day (depending on experience).

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an overseas teaching certificate recognized by Naric

A patient and understanding approach and manner

A flexible and amenable attitude

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Reliable attendance and punctuality

Experience of PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Rapid Prompting Method and other relevant augmentative and alternative communication approaches are advantageous but not essential

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver effective lessons which cater to the needs of individual EHCP plans

Be responsible for all assessments relating to class students

Be aware of, and remain responsible for all safeguarding of pupils within your care

Work collaboratively with both teaching and support staff to ensure best outcomes for students

Foster independence in students and promote wellbeing and good welfare

Passionate and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant required (ASAP)

Your Purpose:

Engage and Support: Utilise a collaborative, multi-sensory, and holistic approach to maintain high learner engagement and deliver an innovative curriculum. Employ innovative engagement strategies to prioritise learners’ needs.

Be effective at the management of health & safety, EDI, and safeguarding to ensure a safe environment.

Be able to travel between sites within the specified locality to support and engage with young people. A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for transporting them to various locations.

Essential

5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, including English and Mathematics.

Full UK Driving License

Preferable

Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools

Level 2 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. (Induction Training for Teaching Assistants & Support Staff).

Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

Level 3 Certificate Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in School

Degree educated.
