A well‑regarded secondary school in the London Borough of Newham is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Science Teacher to join their Science department on a permanent basis from September 2026.

This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs). Applicants must have previous post‑qualification teaching experience within a UK secondary school or equivalent setting.

The Role

  • Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4 (ability to teach KS5 is desirable but not essential)
  • Planning and delivering engaging, well‑sequenced lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Using assessment effectively to support pupil progress and attainment
  • Contributing positively to departmental planning and school‑wide initiatives
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, learning, and achievement

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification)
  • Have at least one completed year of post‑qualification teaching experience
  • Be confident teaching Science at secondary level (specialism welcome)
  • Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management
  • Be committed to inclusive practice and high academic standards
  • Be ready to make a positive contribution to a diverse school community
